OUTWARDEN / PRIVACY

Privacy & cookies

This notice covers visits to the Outwarden website.

Cookies and analytics

The website sets one first-party cookie of its own, ow_vid, a random identifier kept for a year so that we can tell a returning visit from a new one. It carries no personal details and is not shared with anyone. We do not load third-party analytics or advertising scripts. Our network provider, Cloudflare, may use security features to protect the site.

We measure how the site is used with our own first-party script. It records which pages and sections were viewed, what was clicked, how far the page was scrolled and how the enquiry form was used, together with the page you came from, your country, browser type and screen size. It does not read what you type into any form; it records how long each field was in use, whether it was filled in or cleared, and where a form was left unfinished. It also records where on the page you clicked, how long each section was on screen, and which parts of the film were watched. Visits are grouped under a pseudonymous identifier that is derived from your IP address and browser and changes every day. Your IP address is also kept with the visit record, to protect the site from abuse and to help us understand where enquiries come from. When you leave a number or send a message, the IP address, browser and country at the time are kept with your request. If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, nothing is recorded. When you leave a number or send a message, the visit that led to it is kept with your request so we can answer it properly.

The “Ask an engineer” chat

If you use the chat, we keep the questions you tap or write, our answers, the page you were on, the time, your country, browser type and IP address, so that we can answer you and protect the chat from abuse. You do not have to give a name, an email address or a phone number. If you choose to leave an email address, we use it only to send you our answer and to follow up on your question. Your browser keeps a random key for the conversation (in its local storage, under ow_chat) so that you can see our answer when you come back; it is created only when you tap or send a first question, and clearing your browser data removes it. If you close the small chat prompt or open the chat, your browser also remembers that for 30 days (owc_teaser_until) so that the prompt does not come back. We keep chat conversations for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry; to have a conversation deleted, write to [email protected].

Technical information

The hosting server processes standard connection information, including IP address, request path, response status and time, to deliver and protect the website. Website access logs are rotated daily and retained for up to 14 days.

Robot operations

Access to camera views, storage, retention and any cross-border handling for a robot pilot are defined separately with the partner before deployment. The website privacy notice does not replace those operating arrangements.
